an hour worked from home, under the ATO's fixed rate method
How to do it
- Keep a record of the actual hours you work from home, at the time: a timesheet, roster or diary. Estimates aren't accepted.
- Keep one bill for each running cost the rate covers, such as electricity and phone.
- At tax time, multiply your recorded hours by the rate and claim it as a work-from-home deduction.
- Equipment like a desk or computer is claimed separately.
