Did a shop say “no refunds”?
Consumer guarantees come with everything you buy. A sign can't take them away.
Use the ACCC problem solver 10 minutes
Refund
or replacement, your choice, when a product has a major problem
How to do it
- Work out whether it's a major problem (you wouldn't have bought it had you known) or a minor one.
- Go back to the business that sold it to you, not only the manufacturer.
- For a major problem, ask for a refund or replacement; for a minor one, the business must at least repair it free.
- If they refuse, use the ACCC's problem solver, then your state or territory's consumer protection agency.
